THE "AXIS MUNDI" MUSIC BAND
AXIS MUNDI was set up because of an actual need to meet, create, and share all this - music and all related to it phenomena with People and Places. My many years’ search, studies, drama group, music, therapeutic experience, and cognitive passions leading through the multicultural scenery of the World have brought me to a place which has always been connected with organising, creating, building up something new and fresh. This specific centre has had many forms: a stone, a
mountain, a pale, a tree, a source, a totem, stars, a magic herb, a town, a ruler, a shaman, a hero, a temple, a tower, etc. This centre had the value of Sacrum for many years. Later it was used in a secular way and today we have all kinds of entertainment centres, shopping centres, centres of power and business, medical centres, military centres, etc. What is happening or what is to happen in the Centre is essential, important, revealing. This is something that is to bring a thrill
of excitement, give an insight, make you reflect upon something, satisfy certain needs, direct people towards searches, remind of something important, perhaps forgotten, wake up, reveal a secret. Drama and Music appear to be the only activities, among all human activities, which so lively and authentically reflect the core of creativity manifesting in such an organic manner. Transformation can be witnessed on spot by the performance or concert viewers, exist in their experiences,
feelings, thoughts, pervade their experiences. Music we play each time is something alive. Although it results from the inspiration of different music traditions, it is not just copying the existent works, forms or compositions. Its base is art, as well as passion for improvisation supported by unusual vigilance and technical competence in fiddling particular instruments. The sound, tones, melodies, and rhythms have much to do with the Music of the World, as we listen to many
various music forms of all cultures, we are moved by them, and they fall deep inside our Bodies, Hearts and Minds.

Different people and phenomena have had a powerful influence on this quest: C.G. Jung and his attitude to the activity of the psyche, knowing Jacek Ostaszewski and the "Osjan" band, Grotowski and his "Laboratorium", and everything that resulted from the inspiration related to him, the practical approach of discoveries concerning the development of a human entity and human societies suggested by Arnold Mindell.
